Matilda Movie Analysis

Image
Reaction Shot- In this scene of the movie is when Miss Trunchbull got the girl “Amanda” by her pigtails and spun around with her, then flinging her into the air. As the girl went flying in the air, everyone was in disbelief. In this shot you can see everyone's reaction conveyed by the actions of Miss Trunchball. You can see them looking up at the girl in the air with their mouths open in shock. Close-up Shot- In this scene Matilda is crying after her parents denied her request to go to school and to make matters worst, her brother then throwing things at her as well as calling her a name. This shot gives you to a close-up on Matilda's face, allowing you to see the tear coming from her eye and rolling down her cheek. You can see that she is crying, meaning she is sad and her feelings are hurt. Medium Shot- In this scene Matilda is getting in trouble after referring to her father as a"crook". In this angle you can tell that Matilda's father is upset with her by the...

Neat Transitions

Here are some pretty cool transitions I put together.. I used the app "Cap-Cut" to put all clips together with the transitions   Dissolve- Here in this shot you're viewing a video I took at "Super Blue Miami", in this room you see light bulbs twinkling from the ceiling. The room seemed very magical and I can definitely say that it was one of my favorites. In the video above I used a dissolve transition. In one part of the video you see one side of the room, and in the other you see another side of the room. Wipe- These clips are videos I took on my plane ride leaving New York. I used a wipe transition to show the change in scenery. Starting in the first clip, the plane is moving but still on the ground. In the second clip, you can see it has already taken off and is flying in the air. Match-cut- Here I used a match-cut transition to show the matching in my poses, in different videos. The making of these videos took place at "Super Blue Miami" as well a...

Critiquing my peers film shots

Image
I commented on Aamina Housen's , and Kashaneah Tiger ’ s post.   I really enjoyed Aamina's close-up shot, and full body shot. The close-up shot gave me a relaxed and peaceful feeling . A connection was made as I focused on the flowers in detail and watched a slight breeze blow through them. The full body shot gave me a feeling of isolation, this is so because you can see the girl standing there all alone , isolated with no one else around her. I really enjoyed Kashaneah’s extreme close-up shot, and establishing shot. The extreme close-up shot gives me a feeling of suspicion, as I lock myself in the hole in the grou nd which I know is dangerous to whomever is walking there, because it’ll caus e them to fall. The establishing shot gives me a feeling of awe, and peace conveyed by all the beautiful greenery and lovely weather . A sense of isolation is also conveyed as I see that no one is down there, which is quite peaceful.
