Greys Anatomy Mis en Scene

 Costumes-

In this photo you can see that everyone isn't wearing the same thing. You can identify the patient from the doctors by looking at what they are wearing. When you see the people in blue scrubs, a mask, and scrub cap, you know that those are the doctors. So when you then see the person laying down in the hospital gown and bonnet, you know that they are the patient whose undergoing treatment. As you look closely to the doctors in their blue scrubs, you can see that the blues are not the same. You can identify the rank of the doctors by the color scrubs they are wearing, as the dark blue scrubs is for attendings and the light blue scrubs is for interns and residents. 

Scenery-

In this photo you can see that this scene is taking place in an operating room. There's an operating table with someone on it, and you can see the oxygen mask on them. There is an IV bag hanging up, surgical instruments being used, x-rays up, draping, and people dressed as surgeons. By the scenery you can tell that there is some kind of surgery being performed on someone.

Setting-

In this clip you can see gurneys, medical equipment, an x-ray displayed, IV bags hanging, etc. You know that this is taking place at an hospital, which tells you that there are sick people or people who generally need medical assistance present. You also know that there are doctors there working, treating the sick people and helping the people who come in needing help.

Lighting-

In this clip the lighting is conveys a very romantic mood. The lights are set up surrounding Meredith, drawing the attention to her. The set-up of the lights have a special, romantic, meaning which is explained as Derek and Meredith's converse with one another.

Framing-

                                           

In this scene you can see and explain what’s going on due to the positioning of the characters. You see the man in the hospital gown laying in the hospital bed looking lifeless, and a woman laying on him crying. You can tell that she has lost someone very dear to her and that she is very hurt. You can see that there’s a man by her showing sympathy to her, by the way he looks at her and has his arm on her so you can infer that he cares about her.
